Summary

	This event took place shortly before the end of the Cold War. Shortly before the end of the war, Doctor Eli Tarnis, the lead scientist on the Republic's Planet Prison superweapon project, who was, in fact, a Sith Lord, felt that his cover was exposed. After he arranged for the theft of files on the Republic superweapon initiative and had staged his own kidnapping by the Black Sun criminal syndicate, Tarnis contacted his research team, the members of whom were unaware of his true identity, and urged them to bring him the Planet Prison prototype, as he claimed that the Jedi were planning to shut down the project. Believing Tarnis, the five scientists secured the prototype and took it to Tarnis to the detention center deep in Justicar territory. Shortly thereafter, Tarnis was contacted by Salarr, his ally within the Black Sun, who informed Tarnis that his base was under attack by the Jedi. Dismissing him as irrelevant, Tariss ended the call, leaving Salarr to deal with the Jedi alone. Once scientists and technicians arrived, Tarnis revealed himself to be a Sith Lord and brutally murdered them before escaping with the prototype. Tarnis traveled through the Works to the ruins of the Jedi Temple and established a Prison Planet in the ruins of the Council Chamber. He activated the device and it began charging. Technician Jonkan was the only one who was still alive when a Jedi Knight and the Padawan Kira Carsen arrived to the detention center.
